The Town of Aurora is proud to have achieved Bronze status as a

NYS Climate Smart Community- but we're aiming for Silver in 2024! Learn more about what's required for Silver Status.

A celebration of  Earth Day and Springtime! The ultimate free- cycle for getting your yard and garden into shape by trading gently used garden tools with  your neighbors  

The Town of Aurora has passed a resolution in support of the ECRT Rail Trail. 3 miles of this trail passes through West Falls, & will provide a car-free path for walking, biking, jogging, & more. 

$4.5 million just awarded for the revitalization of West Falls! The funds will help create an active downtown dedicated to past heritage & a future as a recreational, cultural, and arts center. 

In addition to 2 stations located at the Municipal building, our Town is working diligently to

install four new charging stations for electric vehicles throughout the town including West Falls. 

Recycled food scraps are called compost-a beneficial soil additive, that provides nutrients while helping to retain soil moisture. Our town will soon be launching a food scraps collection site.

A Greenhouse Gas  Inventory for government operations is an important first step to establish a baseline, and enable our town to track its progress toward reducing energy use. 

The Town of Aurora has instituted a new rapid emergency and general notification service called CodeRED as a proactive tool to keep our residents informed in emergency situations.

Imagine a roadway designed for safety, access, and mobility for everyone- including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

Would you like to see less trash produced at our many wonderful local events? Learn how our town is implementing a recycling strategy and earning money for

To ensure a green future, our Town Board has allocated funds to develop a new comprehensive plan. We've received  an Erie County Smart Growth Community Planning Grant for this purpose. 

LEDs light the way for energy-efficient solutions in the Town of Aurora. We've reduced energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and provided cost savings for our community.

The Town of Aurora Highway Department is currently applying for funds with the NYS DEC  to purchase an EV pickup truck & EV Charging Station to eco-modernize their fleet. Stay tuned!
